Selena Gomez has resurfaced in Tennessee amid her personal break from the
Hollywood spotlight.
Multiple eyewitnesses confirm to E! News that the "Come and Get It" singer
stopped by the Texas Roadhouse in Alcoa, Tennessee Saturday for an afternoon
meal.
"She enjoyed herself and was there for a late lunch," an eyewitness shared with
E! News. "She couldn't have been more gracious to everyone and to the fans
and was more than happy to take pictures with whoever."
The sighting was so exciting to fans that #SelenaIsBackParty began to trend on
Twitter for a short period on Saturday.
As many followers know, Selena announced in August that she would be taking
some time off away from the spotlight. At the same time, the actress hoped to
focus on her heath and the unfortunate side effects of her lupus diagnosis.
"Around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people
in different ways," she shared in a statement to E! News. "I've discovered that
anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can
present their own challenges."
She continued, "I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and
happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time
off."
Since the announcement, Selena has not made any big appearances on red
carpets or star-studded events including the Global Citizen Festival .
Furthermore, her last Instagram post was seven weeks ago.
Ultimately, Selena assured fans this past summer that she appreciates their
support as she shifts her priorities away from music and acting for the time
being.
"Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to
me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to
be my best," she shared. "I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others
will be encouraged to address their own issues."
